Puppy Kindergarten

Puppy Kindergarten is a class designed for puppies, 9 weeks – 20 weeks of age and is taught Monday nights from 7:00-8:00 p.m.. Puppy Kindergarten is a class also designed to help you enjoy and understand this new four legged furry addition to your family. In this class we take a positive motivational approach by teaching you and your puppy “Preventive” training. Preventive training takes the approach to help your little puppy now, before they start exhibiting those unwanted behaviors we so commonly see. Owners will also learn proper re-direction techniques & help in desensitizing your puppy to future veterinarian visits as well as grooming.  All puppies must have proof of their first set of vaccines from your veterinarian by the first class session, in order to participate in the class. Each class meeting DOES include both the puppy and his/her owner. 

In Puppy Kindergarten you & your puppy will learn:
 
         Proper crate training (House Breaking) & Puppy Health.
         How to be a good “Pack Leader” in your home.
         Proper Socialization skills & non-aggressive puppy games.
         Controlled walking on leash.
         Imprinting of the “Sit” command.
         Imprinting of the “Down” command.
         “Off” command.

Equipment needed:
         Some form of ID collar (Nylon web, Cotton web, or Leather collar)
         6 Foot standard leash (Nylon or Leather), no chain leashes allowed
         Some small kibble of Puppy Treats (used as form of reinforcement)
