Smart Paws Dog Obedience & Canine Training was started by Jessica Smith in 2005 in Goldsboro, NC.  Jessica's love for animals and the desire to help dogs and their owners is the driving factor for the creation of Smart Paws.  While working in a Veterinary Clinic, Jessica saw the need to assist owners in understanding their dogs.  She saw where to many dogs were taken to the local animal shelter and later euthanized correctable behavioral issues.

Jessica graduated from Mount Olive College in 1999 with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and a Minor in Biology.

Jessica received her Certified Pet Dog Trainer certification from Animal Behavior College in 2007.
